Homework Policy Letter
Dear Parent(s),
Welcome to junior high at Maria Regina Catholic School. This letter is to address any questions you may have about homework assigned in my class. Please, discuss this information with your child.
Reason for assigning homework: Homework is a valuable tool in helping a student make the most of their experience in school. Homework reinforces what has been taught in class, prepares students for upcoming lessons, teaches responsibility, and helps students develop positive study habits.
When homework will be assigned: For the 6th-8th grade homework will be assigned Monday through Friday. Homework should not take more than two hours; please understand that this does not include studying for tests or projects.
Students’ Homework Responsibilities: I expect students to do their best on each assignment. Homework should be neat, not sloppy. All written reports including essays are to be typed or computer generated. Deductions will be made for late work.
Teacher’s Homework Responsibilities: I will check all homework assignments and record them in Gradelink. I will also support good homework habits by giving praise and/or other incentives.
Parent(s) Homework Responsibilities: To make homework a positive experience, give it top priority at home. Set aside a time every day to do homework, provide praise and positive support and help your child get to the library when necessary. Please contact me if you have a concern.
Incomplete Homework: If a student shows consistency with incomplete homework, a conference with parent(s) and child will be requested.
Thank you for your support,
Mrs. Robbins
